Birdie Lee King

Birdie L. King age 81 of Rison, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born August 25, 1928 in Cornerville, a daughter of the late Ambers Green and Icey Glover Green. Mrs. King was a retired cafeteria worker for Rison High School and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William King; daughter, Paulette Cash; brother, J. W. Green; sister, Gerald Dean Lloyd.

Mrs. King is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Lillie King, Larry and DeAnna King, Carter and Cindy King, Billy and Kathy King, all of Rison; one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Robert Rhodes; son-in-law, James Cash, all of Rison; two brothers, Floyd Green of Glendale, Leon Green of Rison; fourteen grandchildren, Shalane Gossett, William L. King, Angie Palazzi, Davy King, Amy Dedman, Joseph Lawrence, Johnathon Lawrence, Allen Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Mark Cash, Jessica Aud, Samantha Raney, Rex Hagaman and Andy Hagaman; twenty seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Anna, Jake, Drake, Payton, Sidney, Austin, Shelby, Tucker, Hannah, Gage, Ragan, Mackenzie, Megan, Alli Beth, West, Megan, Grant, Anslee, Macie, Skylar, Tyler, Alexis, Madison, Kaylan, Garrett, and Cole.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother C. E. VanNess and Brother Wade Totty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
