Billy Ray Goodman

Billy Ray Goodman Sr., age 67, of Grapevine, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born June 13, 1945 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late E.K. Goodman and Bernice (Sharp) Goodman Laminack. Billy was a retired Detective with the Pine Bluff Police Department, having his Associate Degree in Criminology and a proud graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He was a 1963 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, also retiring from Safeway and Airgas in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Billy enjoyed working hard all of his life and loved his family dearly. His granddaughter, Sydney was the pride and joy of his life. Billy was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Billy Ray Goodman Jr. Billy is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (LeBlanc) Goodman; one daughter, Kim Smith (Jeremy) of Sheridan, Arkansas; one brother, William David Goodman of Thorpe, Wisconsin; one sister, Gracie Evelyn Clark of Calmer, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Sydney Plunkett of Sheridan, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 25, 2013 at Grapevine Cemetery, Grapevine, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the America Heart Association.
