Billie J. Langford, age 81, of Kingsland, currently residing at Crown Point Assisted Living in Sheridan, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 23, 2012. She was born June 14, 1930 in Kingsland, a daughter of the late Walter and Maude Hall Mitchell. Mrs. Langford was a 1948 graduate of Kingsland High School. She was a homemaker, genealogist and world traveler. Mrs. Langford was a genealogist by trade for over for forty years, helping write seven books, ten journals, and was still researching and writing. She traveled to thirty five countries, and all fifty states, with her last trip on her seventy sixth birthday, where she flew to North Dakota with her granddaughter, Jana Catlett. She was a member of the Cleveland County Genealogy Society, Hebron Extension Homemakers Club; a founder of Friends of the Library. She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Langford loved quilting and was known for her t-shirt quilts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wardell Langford; one brother, Bobby Mitchell; two sisters, Edna Thomasson, Iris Mitchell; son-in-law, Nathan L. Barlow. Mrs. Langford is survived by one son, Bart Langford of Little Rock; one daughter, Vicki Barlow of Rison; one sister, Lillian Russell of Kingsland; four grandchildren and spouses, Jana Catlett and Kevin, Brooke Moseley and Kevin, all of Hot Springs, Ken Langford and Danica of Cypress, Texas, Seth Barlow of Rison; four great grandchildren, Malorie and Avery Catlett, Peyton and Makenna Langford. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Hebron United Methodist Church with Reverend Maurice Caldwell and Reverend Dusty Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Ben Thomasson, Josh Langford, Jonathan Langford, Jeff Childress, Jason Hall, Calton Hall, James Wright and Jake Wright. Memorials may be made to the Cleveland County Historical Society Museum Fund, c/o Dr. Annette Rawls, treasurer, 510 Highway 114, Rison, Arkansas 71665 or the Gideons International, P. O. Box 216, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
