Billie Lee Bennings

Billie Lee Bennings age 85, of Poyen, Arkansas formerly of Prattsville passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born July 3, 1927 to the late Leland Bennings and Ethel (Stuckey) Bennings in Prattsville, Arkansas. Billie was a member of Buie Baptist Church for many years, where he served as the choir director. He was retired from Central Arkansas Transit as a Bus Driver and he also served as a Medic in the United States Army in World War II and Korea. Billie loved life and he got joy taking care of his dogs which he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce (Williams) Bennings and one sister, Betty Jo Smith. Billie is survived by his son, Gary Allen Bennings of Grapevine, Arkansas; one daughter, Tanis Aldridge of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Clarence "Poodle" Bennings of Prattsville, Arkansas; three step children, three grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 12:30 - 1:30 P.M., Tuesday January 8, 2013 in the chapel of Buie Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Philadelphia Cemetery Prattsville, Arkansas, with Reverend Don Tallison officiating.
