Bill Edward Hooks

Bill Edward Hooks, 79, of Watson Chapel passed away the morning of December 1, 2022. He was born May 26, 1943 to the late Melvin and Ruth Hooks, he grew up in Banks, AR and later graduated from Bonnesville HS.
Other than his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Hooks and Smead Hooks, sisters, Patsy Hooks Loomis, Dorris Hooks, Lois Hooks Green, Marilyn Hooks Pitts , and Sherline Hooks, and the love of his life, his wife of 49 years , Shelby Jean Hudgens Hooks.

He is survived by his sons, Eddie Hooks of Des Arc and Keith Hooks of Rison, his brothers, Joe Frank Hooks, Merl Dean Hooks , Cecil Hooks , and Marion Hooks, his sisters, Merline Knight, Peggy Morgan and Morris Jeffreys; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.

He and Shelby settled down in Watson Chapel where they raised their two sons.
He was a retired millwright from the paper mill in Pine Bluff.
He loved spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for anyone.
Our family is grateful to know that Bill is finally at peace.

Visitation will be held 6PM-8PM on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Buie Funeral Home
