Bill Herrington

Bill Herrington age 74 of Rison, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his home. He was born July 21, 1933 in Rison, a son of the late Hoody and Ola Mae Puckett Herrington. Mr. Herrington graduated from Rison High School in 1953 and served in the Army. He retired from the Arkansas Department of Highway Transportation after twenty eight years of service and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Herrington was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Juanita Herrington on August 28, 2006; one brother, Lee Herrington.

Mr. Herrington is survived by one son, James Herrington of Benton; three daughters, Donnie Vandiver of Dumas, Bonnie Herrington of Dumas, Ann Herrington of Dumas; five brothers, George Herrington, John Herrington and Hardy Herrington all of Rison, Tom Herrington of Vacherie, Louisiana, Fred Herrington of Sheridan; six sisters, Bernice Reed, Ruth Reed and Donie Mull all of Rison, Ethel Golden, Cescel Luker both of North Little Rock, Ola Hayes of Monticello; three grandchildren, Nikki Herrington, Zack Herrington both of Arkadelphia, Jimmy Vandiver of Monticello.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at Buie Chapel in Rison with Brother Larry Fry and Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery near New Edinburg. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
