Betty Edwards Sims

Betty Edwards Sims, age 84, of Sheridan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born May 28, 1930 in Springhill, Louisiana to the late William Irvin Edwards and Ruby May Eskew Edwards. Before retiring in 1989, Mrs. Sims worked as a office manager for Bossier Federal Credit Union in Bossier City. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, and attending Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Sheridan, where she was a faithful member. Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Jefferson Sims, Jr.; three brothers; and six sisters. Left to cherish her memory, her sons, Ronald Judson Sims, Sr. and his wife, Denise of Sheridan, Robert Alan Sims and his wife, Carolyn of Longview, Texas, and Michael Ray Sims and his wife, Alexis of Malvern; daughters, Leni Gayle Woods of Plano, Texas and Brenda Kay Brice and her husband, George of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister, Joy Culbertson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; grandchildren, Ronald Judson "Chip" Sims Jr., Katherine Michelle Sims, Jenifer Diane Woods, Donald Kelly Woods Jr., LeeAnn Skinner, Heather Nicole Thrower, Alan Lee Sims, Ryan Joseph Sims, George Alvin "Trey" Brice III, and Hunter Logan Sims; great-grandchildren, Austin Dale Dotson, Conner Ray James, Tanner Caplinger, Judson Tyler Sims, Austin Dylan Sims, Landon Jacob Sims, Kayleni Brice Thrower, Mckinlee Elizabeth Brice, Hannah Madyson Sims, Brice Everet Thrower, Rylan Kelly Woods, and Annelise Brice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Sheridan. Interment will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Pallbearers are Hunter Sims, Chip Sims, Alan Sims, Trey Brice, Jeff Taylor, and Bob Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Katherine Sims, LeeAnn Skinner, Heather Thrower, Donald Ray Sawyer, Ryan Sims, Jennifer Caplinger, Randy King, and "Little Donnie" Woods.
