Bettie Hoover

Bettie Hoover, age 74, of Woodlawn went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2014 in Little Rock. She was born August 28, 1939 in Monticello, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Vance Carter and Lillie Tucker Carter. Mrs. Hoover was a faithful member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. She was a respected teacher at the Woodlawn School District for forty years and was passionate about providing a quality education to all her students. Mrs. Hoover was member of the Retired Teachers Association. She loved her family and friends dearly. Mrs. Hoover is survived by her husband James "Ronnie" Hoover of Woodlawn whom she married December 11, 1959; daughter, Vickie Busick of Woodlawn; sister, Kay Carter (Dewayne Bonds) of Monticello; brother-in-law Raymond Hoover of Texarkana; grandchild, David Busick of Woodlawn; nieces Teresa Johnson (Kevin) of Tennessee, Gigi Culberson (Wayne) of Texarkana, Candy Hamilton of Texarkana; and a host of friends. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Wiles officiating and interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery near Monticello. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Tom Brown, Mike Davis, Jimmy Boyd, Sammy Vinson, Lee Stover, Don Gavin, Billy Britt, and J.L. Woolley. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Calmer.
