Bessie Lou (Broyles) Nugent

Bessie Lou Broyles Nugent, 77, of Newport, entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Hazel Broyles, and by her husband, Theo Nugent. She is survived by two sons Paul (Mary) and Denny Nugent; grandchildren Terry, Joshua, Jeremy, Jenny, Alyssa, Leah; and great grandchildren, Marissa and Ezekiel. Bessie Lou spent most of her life in Searcy County and graduated from Timbo High School. She attended college in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and taught in small rural schools in Searcy and Stone Counties. Bessie Lou loved art, bargain hunting, dogwood blooms and the change of the seasons. There will be a graveside service officiated by Luther Branscum on Wednesday, February 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Harness Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Care.
