Bertie Lou Rowland

Bertie Lou Stover Rowland, age 81, of Rison, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Mrs. Rowland was born in the Kedron community near Rison on April 20, 1933, a daughter of the late William Calvin "Bill" Riggins and Jessie McLaughlin Riggins. For several years, Mrs. Rowland was a nurse's aide at the Cleveland County Nursing Home and was very active with Cleveland County Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed volunteering at the Rison Schools and was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Rowland was a large fan of Johnny Cash but most important was getting to visit and just spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Louise Riggins, Gertie Williams, Jean Rowland, Mary Brown; brothers, Calvin Riggins, Jr. and Mack Ralph Riggins. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Judy Clayton and husband, Ronny of Rison; grandchildren, Ronny Clayton, Jr., Jacob Clayton; great grandchild, Adrian Clayton and sister-in-law, Louise Riggins. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Funeral services are 2:00 pm., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Bryan Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Rison. Pallbearers are Terry Brown, Jerry Brown, Jerry Bowlin, Greg Riggins, Brian Riggins, Tyler Phillips, Tanner Phillips, Justin Miller,Josh Miller, Clint Works and John Works.
