Bertha Louise Perna (Porter), of Vilonia, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2020, at the age of 100.
Bertha was born on November 22, 1919, in East Millsboro, Pennsylvania to Ewing and Sarah (Harn) Porter. She was a christian and a member of Naylor United Methodist Church. She worked many years in the eye clinic at Montgomery Ward and retired from Douglas Optical as an Optician in 1981. After she retired, she went back to work at Vilonia Drug Store for several years. She was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She quilted hundreds of quilts over her lifetime.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, D.Q. Perna (Joan) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Pete Perna
(Janet) of Vilonia; two daughters, Nancy Lacey (Michael) of Vilonia; Edye Green (Terry) of Phillipsburg, Missouri; one sister, Betty Bartolotti of East Millsboro, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings.
It was Mrs. Perna's request that there be no public services.
