Belva Joy (Reed) White

Belva Joy Reed White, of Woodlawn, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born June 14, 1934 in Woodlawn, she was the daughter of the late Marvin G. Reed and Lettie Baker of Woodlawn. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. “Jim” White. They were married November 29, 1954 in Rison. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lavere Glover, Shirley Crain, and Dorothy Collard, and one brother Charles Wilber Reed. She worked at Graber’s Department Store, Baim’s Department Store and TG&Y. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the AARP, and served with the Woodlawn Fire Department for over 25 years.

She is survived by Bro. Jackie and Angela Richardson who she loved as a son, and daughter, Brittany Caldwell and her husband Brian and Kelsey Monk and her husband Spencer, who she always called her grandchildren: great grandchildren, Kinsley and Andrew Caldwell, Jett Monk and her church family.

Pallbearers will be Greg Reed, Shane Reed, Julian Jones, Tom Brown, Spencer Monk, Jimmy Turner and Brian Caldwell, with Kenneth Wooley, Owen Rushing, John Dobbs and Randy Glover as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Richardson and Brother Brain Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or the Ladies Auxiliary.
