Beatrice C. Rhodes

Beatrice Bea Cheshier Rhodes age 93 of the Y Community near Rison, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Green House Cottages in Rison. She was born January 9, 1917 in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Leli Cheshier and Lonnie Word Cheshier. Mrs. Rhodes was a graduate of New Edinburg High School, and loved fishing and hunting. She was a retired Rural Mail Carrier and a homemaker. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tollie Rhodes whom died on August 29, 2000; one brother, C. L. Cheshier; five sisters, Tresise Smith, Gladys Tipton, Sue Seymore, Merle Kauffman and Frances Russell.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by one sister, Ruby Hugueley of Rutherford, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Paul Lamar Martin and Brother Jim Tollison officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are John T. Reed, Bill Gray, Steve Gray, Clinton Rauls, David Davis, and Ronald Thompson.
