Barbara Jean Garrison

Barbara Jean Garrison (Vermillion) passed away at her home in Vilonia on September 04, 2018 at the age of 78. Barbara was born on September 21, 1939 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Walter and Juanita (Daniels) Vermillion.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, and being with family. She was a devoted Christian and most recently a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Conway. Previously, as a member of First Baptist Church in Vilonia, she worked as a Sunday School teacher, Awana leader, church secretary, and active in the choir as well as various other ministries.  Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joe C. Garrison of the home; two sons, Jim Garrison (Sarita) of Huntsville, Alabama; John Garrison (Cindy) of Vilonia; daughter, Janet Martin (David) of Vilonia; one sister, Betty Shulte (Don) of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Vance R. Vermillion, and sister, Shirley Buchanan. The family will gather to visit with friends at 10:15 AM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2nd Baptist Church 2600 Dave Ward Drive Conway, AR 72034. A celebration of her life  will begin at 11:00 AM also at the church with Bro. Sam Bailey and Bro. John Hamby officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends a donation to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN. 38105.
