Audrey Parker

Audrey Dykes Parker age 92 of Kingsland, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Cleveland County Nursing Home. She was born November 18, 1916 in the Herbine Community, a daughter of the late A. R. Crook and Mary Lee Granderson Crook. Mrs. Parker was the owner and operator of Dykes Cafe in Kingsland and a member of Kingsland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was also preceded in death by two husbands, Ray Dykes, and Alton F. Parker; two brothers, Pete Crook, and A. R. Crook Jr.; a nephew, Steve Crook.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Marita Dykes of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ruth and Gene Rhodes of Rison; three grandchildren; one step grandchild; eight great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Kingsland Cemetery with Reverend Travis George officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
