Annie Lou Puckett

Annie Lou Puckett age 92 of the Macedonia Community near Rison, died, Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Southern Hills Green House Cottages Nursing Home in Rison. She was born September 9, 1917 in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Charlie Dixon and Vida Owens Dixon. Mrs. Puckett was a homemaker, a longtime member of the Extension Homemakers Club, Cleveland County Library, and the Cleveland County Nursing Home Sing Along Group. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a former Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Puckett loved the Lord and her church. She was instrumental in building the current Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church by donating the land. Mrs. Puckett was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clarence Puckett; one son, Levon Puckett; four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Puckett is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Myrtle and George Herrington of the Macedonia Community, Ethel Faye and Charlie Rains of Hope, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Myra Puckett of the Macedonia Community; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Rita and Raymond Shirey, Wayne and Kristy Herrington, Brenda and Eddie Pope, Mary Jane and David Hensley, Charles and Paula Puckett, Angela and Jackie Richardson, Denesia Conner, Teresa and Mike Reaves, Kevin and Elizabeth Rains, Kimberly and Chad Sanford; twenty four great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Richardson and Brother John Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wayne Herrington, Charles Puckett, Kevin Rains, Eddie Pope, Mike Reaves, Raymond Shirey, David Hensley and Chad Sanford. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Monday, June 28, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 420 Goggans Road, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
