Annie Cox age 78 of Rison, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born December 21, 1929 in the Kedron Community, a daughter of the late Murry and Josie Edwards Ratliff. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker. She was a member of Rison Baptist Church, the T. E. L. Sunday School class and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Cox lived for her Lord, her family and dancing every other Saturday night at the American Legion. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Bill Cox, Jr. who died December 14, 1991; sisters, Lorene Green, Willie Green, Eugenia King, Ruby Taylor and Francis Jenkins; good friend and dance partner, Ben Stone.
Mrs. Cox is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Raymond Aud of Rison, Debbie and Al Zimmerebner of Little Rock; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Buddy and Carolyn Ratliff of Houston, Texas, Steve and Louise Ratliff of Rison, Sonny Ratliff of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Eddie Rogers of Rison; two grandchildren, Angie Dodson of Alvin, Texas, Shanae Howell of North Little Rock; three step grandchildren, Peggy Minchew of Sheridan, Cindy Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sandra Bishop of Fort Worth, Texas; two great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at Rison Baptist Church with Brother Wade Totty and Brother J. T. Harvill officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers will be Terry Gray, Rickey Fore, Lamar Jennings, Cleve Reed Jr., Vernon Dollar, Hershel S. Garner and Joe Rauls.
