Alvie Sullivan Statler, 81, of Port Lavaca, Texas, formerly of Kensett, Arkansas passed away June 19, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Seadrift, Texas. She was born March 11, 1939 at Searcy, Arkansas to the late LeRoy and Effie Mason Sullivan.
Mrs. Statler accepted Christ at a young age and served the Lord all her life. Alvie was a member of the Six-Mile Assembly of God Church and former pastor along side her late husband at the Kensett House of Prayer. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 61 years and a minister with the Assemblies of God. She also served as the Women’s Ministry President of Yoakum Texas and taught the Daisies, Prims, Missionettes, and Christ Ambassadors.
She married Eugene Statler October 17, 1964 at Higginson, Arkansas; he preceded her in death January 18, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tom Statler; three brothers; and five sisters.
Family left to cherish her memory include five daughters, Marquita Gohlke (Dale), Rebecca Ellard (David), Linda Sullivan (Buddy), Cindy Boldrey (Danny), Sheila Jasso (Martin), Tammy McLaughlin (Alfredo); twenty grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Sullivan (Georgia Bell) and Glendle “Buddy” Sullivan (Linda); as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at The House of Prayer in Kensett. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial following at Gum Springs Cemetery.
