Alice Geneva Roberts

Alice Geneva Roberts, age 90 of Rison, died Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Cleveland County Nursing Home. She was born April 1, 1917 in the Macedonia Community near Rison, a daughter of the late Mason and Susie Trammell Hartley. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. B Dub Roberts on April 12, 1992; two sisters, Ellen Stringfellow, Jessie Ethridge.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Homer Gene and Joy Roberts of Leesville, Louisiana, James Punk Roberts of Marvell, Roy Bo and Lynn Roberts of Pine Bluff; three daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Billy Wilson of Milam, Texas, Louise Cramer of Beatrice, Nebraska, Mattie Sue Miller of Rison; one brother, Cecil Hartley of Hampton; twenty one grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Buie Chapel in Rison with Brother Jim Stone and Brother Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 4:00 to 6:00p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, c/o Nancy Holland, 6818 Providence Road, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603. The family will be at the home of Sue Miller, 190 Mt. Carmel Road, Rison.
