Aletha Maureen Grant age 79 of Grapevine, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Cleveland County Nursing Home in Rison. She was born May 20, 1928 in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Elon G. and Margaret Wilson West. Mrs. Gant was a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as Denominational Convention President and a member of the Denominational Board of Missions. Mrs. Grant was a Past Matron of White Sulpher Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Grant Sr.; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kelley; one brother, Elon Thomas Buck West; one sister, Mary Ethel West; one grandson, Justin Henry.

Mrs. Grant is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James H Joey and Debbie Grant; one daughter and sons-in-law, Margaret Kay and Eddie Lybrand and Tommie Butch Kelley, all of Grapevine; six grandchildren and spouses, Dale and Lindzey Henry of Jacksonville, Florida, Jason and Jennifer Kelley, Lindsey Kelley, Brandy Kelley of Sheridan, Renee Lybrand and Zachary Grant of Grapevine; four great grandchildren, Aiden Henry of Jacksonville, Florida, Emma Kelley of Sheridan, Brenton and Jaxon Ray of Grapevine.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Brother Jim Bradshaw and Reverend Barbara Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Shell Cemetery near Grapevine. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:0 p.m. Friday at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Society or the American Diabetic Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
